Today was devoted to travel to San Antonio for ETS, but that doesn't mean it wasn't eventful:
- On the way to Dallas Love Field my car broke down. The engine simply stopped and wouldn't start back! Fortunately I was near UT Southwestern and could pull off on a safe side street, in the shade no less. One missed flight + one tow truck + one Uber driver who picked me up on the side of the road = not too bad of a delay.
- Pray for my Uber driver. We had a short conversation and I was able to encourage him to be open to God's work in his life.
- At the San Antonio airport when I find my shuttle to the hotel, turns out I'm standing right next to Mark Strauss . We had nice time catching up.
- At the second stop the shuttle made, in climbs Elliott Johnson! We are both on tomorrow morning in the biblical hermeneutics section. He presents, then I (and two others) respond. When we got into downtown San Antonio, I suggested we get into a horse-drawn carriage and iron out our hermeneutical differences, but strangely he wasn't game.
Tomorrow should be fun: hermeneutics in the morning, Synoptic Problem in the afternoon, then a well-deserved steak dinner! I'll post more as the conference proceeds.
