I will participate in two sessions at ETS this year, both on Tuesday, Nov 15. In the morning the Biblical Hermeneutics section will address the contribution of E. D. Hirsch, Jr., to biblical hermeneutics. Dr. Elliott Johnson, a colleague of mine in the Bible Exposition department at Dallas Theological Seminary, will present the first major paper. I will present a response, along with Dan McCartney and Danny Hays. In the afternoon the Synoptic Gospels section will address a new book edited by Stanley Porter and Bryan Dyer, The Synoptic Problem: Four Views. Stanley Porter will present the first major paper. I will present a response, along with Brent Sandy. Each of these sessions will have a time for interaction among the panelists and Q&A from the audience.
