PBS has produced a new documentary on the life of Jesus, entitled "The Story of Jesus," to air sometime this fall. I learned about it through an announcement about a forthcoming session at the Society of Biblical Literature national meetings in November where the program will be aired followed by discussion. This looks to be interesting, but at present I cannot find any direct information from PBS about the program or its contents. (Any links to direct information would be appreciated.) Most notably the program has the names of N. T. Wright and Ben Witherington associated with it, so that would lead me to be positively disposed to it. Of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I'm looking forward to seeing this when it is aired publicly. I will not be able to attend the SBL meetings this year, so if anyone does see the advanced screening, I'd welcome your thoughts and comments.
