I spent some time this afternoon reading Dan Reid’s chapter in On the Writing of New Testament Commentaries, the recent Festschrift for Grant R. Osborne. He gives a very helpful overview of how publishers view commentaries from both a business and scholarly viewpoint. Learning how the industry works is always helpful, so check it out for some insider information.
