On the plane to Atlanta this morning I finished reading N. T. Wright's book Justification: God's Plan and Paul's Vision. Since this book was written in response to John Piper's book The Future of Justification: A Response to N. T. Wright, it is less a scholarly treatment and more an impassioned response which requires some knowledge of what Piper has said to get the fullest picture of Wright's argument. (Piper's book is in my reading pile.) Even so, it is a good place to start if you are interested in reading up on the justification debate. Wright's argument is clear, and he points to his other writings when needed to flesh out what he says in brief or in outline form.
