Great book for learning exegesis

Repost from my prior blog installation.

I have had the pleasure recently of reading Moisés Silva's book Interpreting Galatians: Explorations in Exegetical Method in advance of some exegetical work I will be doing in that New Testament book. Not only is this book exceptional in the particular discussions about Galatians itself, but Silva excels in illustrating solid exegetical method. I recommend it highly to anyone who is in the process of learning exegetical method, as well as those who simply enjoy that kind of discussion about the Bible. Silva has written a commentary on the book of Philippians, which is in the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament Series. I have not used it before, but now I plan to as I teach Philippians this fall in our NT103 course.
